Government Improvements

As a child, I thought that the governments purpose was to "help improve the lives of its citizen and protect them from dangers".  I never lost that track of that thought, but I have realized the naivety and yet simplicity of that thought.  Our government needs to be set on a path of self improvement, efficiency, and growth.  How do we do that?  We as a society choose to adopt policies that reject the illusions that red-tape makes things safer, better, or improves things.  Our governments goal should be to improve, not define.  To enlighten not separate.  To up-lift & grow not status quo.  I hope that someday our leaders will get that message and adopt policies towards that goal.  A smarter & active society is a stronger, safer society.  We should be looking to include and up-lift, not divide based on ideological differences.  Respect of differences not stead-fast faith in the past.

What the hell, is Mother Nature pissed off that California and that we had to be take down a notch or two?

I've been watching the news & listening to the radio news conferences when I can these past few days and all I keep hearing are officials repeatedly thanking each other repeatedly for doing such a great job handling the fires and keeping in control of the situation. This is bullshit to the Nth degree. The FIRES are not out yet. Men & women are still fighting the fires. People are still losing they're property, possessions, & in the worst of cases their life. All forms of life of Southern California are still breathing in the toxic fumes that are being generated by the fires. YOU DON'T GET TO COMPLIMENT ONE ANOTHER UNTIL THE JOB IS FINISHED!!! Only in a realm of thought and conduct as corrupt and two-faced as politics could this happen. There are still great men and women fighting the blazes across Southern California and these politicians are standing around complimenting each other for having fought the blaze so well and keeping the "lines of communication" working so well. This is complete bullshit. The REAL reason that they are putting up this brave and noble complimenting escapade is that elections are always right around the corner and good PR is worth millions of $$. I'm so completely disgusted with the whole circus. Here's what needs to happen; first the government needs to stop the bullshit, get the resources where they are needed to fight the fires, kill the freaking fires, then find out what was lost and by who, and then once everyone has back there destroyed lives compliment one another from having help the citizens of this great country in a time of need by getting them help, shelter, hope, and most of all safety with a help hand. That's what needs to happen. Now get it done!
